Pre-Professional photography workshops for ages 10-17
Homeschool Photography Workshops (Ages 10–17)
Hands-on studio classes capped at just 10 students for a true workshop feel. Students will learn real photography techniques, rotate between modeling and photographing, and explore creative concepts using professional lighting and sets. Each class explores a different concept with different take aways. See class descriptions below and let us know which you would like to reserve a spot for! Parents are welcome to stay and hang out or drop off + pick up their student at the studio. Class will take place from 10am-11:30am.
Tuition: $25/student or $35 with professional prints
Cameras provided if students don’t bring their own.
2026 Workshop Descriptions
🎨 March 26 — Storytelling in Photography
“Create a Colorful Story — Literally.”
Students will learn how to capture journalistic-style storytelling through photography — while creating art in real time. Wearing a white shirt and paint-friendly pants, they’ll play with colorful paint on set, documenting the messy, vibrant transformation as it unfolds.
🎨 April 30 — Color Theory & Emotion in Photography
“Choose Your Colors. Shape Your Story.”
Students will explore the basics of color theory and learn how different colors create different emotions in an image. They’ll choose from two backdrop color pairings and shoot a rip-through style set, creating bold, expressive portraits using purposeful color choices.
⚫️ May 28 — Black & White Spotlight Effects
“Create Dramatic Black & White Art With Light.”
This workshop lets students experiment with an optical snoot, a special-effects lighting tool that shapes light into dramatic spotlights. They’ll create striking black and white portraits that feel cinematic, moody, and completely unique.
💨 August 27 — Freezing Motion & Motion Blur
“Capture Movement in the Most Creative Way.”
Students will learn two essential motion techniques: freezing action and creating beautiful, intentional motion blur. Using flowing skirts and fabrics, they’ll photograph dynamic movement — and experience how motion transforms an image.
✨ September 24 — Textures & Reflections
“Build a Set. Bend Reality.”
In this workshop, students will construct their own creative sets using recycled backdrop paper and reflective mylar. They’ll explore how textures and reflections can transform a simple portrait into something magical — including underwater-style reflections using mylar.
👻 October 29 — Fog, Color, & Spooky Light
“Master Spooky Lighting Just in Time for Halloween.”
Students will mix fog and colored lighting to create eerie, cinematic effects perfect for spooky season. They’ll experiment with atmosphere, shadows, and color to craft unforgettable Halloween-themed images inside a real studio.

Pre-Professional Photography Intensives (Ages 13–17)
Inspiring the next generation of visual storytellers — one school break at a time.
First come, first serve | Limited to 10 students per intensive
Give your teen a meaningful, creative, and skill-building experience during their school break. Designed for motivated young artists ages 13–17, our 3–5 day Pre-Professional Intensives offer a hands-on, immersive introduction to photography inside a fully equipped professional studio.
These intensives are crafted to develop real technical skill, nurture creativity, and help students begin building a photography portfolio they can feel proud of — all within a safe, structured environment running 9 AM–3 PM, ideal for working parents.
Students will learn foundational techniques before applying them on three fully designed studio sets, taking turns modeling and photographing in a partnered, supportive environment. By the end of the program, every student will receive both a physical, professionally printed portfolio and a digital portfolio showcasing their growth and talent.
